Ammonia alcohol in the garden - use and application
Ammonia alcohol, sold in a pharmacy, is an aqueous solution of ammonia - a substance that is used in agriculture as a nitrogen fertilizer. Experienced gardeners are able to use ammonia on land to increase yields and protect plants against pests.
The use of ammonia in the garden
Ammonia is a gas with a strong specific odor, consisting of nitrogen and hydrogen. Dissolving in water, it forms a new substance - ammonia.
The aqueous solution of ammonia is a universal fertilizer, suitable for fertilizing all crops. It is advisable to use ammonia when plants signal a lack of nitrogen with a pale color. After introducing ammonia into the soil or spraying the leaves, the plants acquire a bright green color.
Nitrogen enters ammonia in ammonium form NH4, which does not accumulate in plant tissues, unlike nitrates of NO3. Feeding with ammonia does not pollute agricultural products and does not increase the content of nitrates. Plants take from ammonia alcohol as much useful element as they need. The rest of nitrogen soil bacteria are processed into nitrates, which the plants will digest later.
Ammonium alcohol is the precursor of most nitrogen fertilizers. At chemical plants, ammonia is oxidized by air, resulting in nitric acid, which is used to produce fertilizers and other nitrogen-containing compounds.
In pharmacies, ammonia comes in the form of a 10% solution, packaged in glass containers of 10, 40 and 100 ml. The affordable price of the drug allows you to use it in the suburban areas.
To decide whether to use ammonia as a fertilizer, you need to calculate the profitability. In 100 gr. alcohol contains 10 gr. active ingredient. At the same time in 100 gr. The most popular nitrogen fertilizer - urea - contains almost 50 gr. active ingredient.
Use of ammonia in the garden
Use the solution right after cooking, until the smell of ammonia has disappeared. Plants can be processed from a sprayer or a watering can with a shallow shower head. Ammonia is volatile, so the sprayer can not be placed on the "fog" position - the alcohol will evaporate without hitting the leaves. Treatment with ammonia should take place on a cloudy day or at sunset.
From ants
To get rid of garden ants, pour an anthill with a solution of ammonia - 100 ml per 1 liter. water. You can process the plants so that the ants do not creep along their branches. To do this, 1 tbsp. mix with 8 liters. water, let it brew for half an hour and sprinkle the leaves and bark.
From harmful insects
A person can hardly feel the smell of ammonia, which is strongly diluted in water, but it will seem to be sharp for the sensitive sense of smell of insects. Spraying with ammonia is detrimental to some common agricultural pests. After treatment, aphids disappear from the leaves, wireworms, bear wolves crawl away, and onion and carrot fly larvae die .
To destroy aphids in a bucket of water, dilute 50 ml of ammonia, add a little grated laundry soap, mix and sprinkle the leaves. Soap is needed in order to keep the mixture stuck harder.
To fight soil pests, pour plants under the root of 10 ml of alcohol on a bucket of water. Such treatment is carried out at the beginning of the season. Usually this is enough to clear the soil from the wireworm and the bear.
Onions and carrots are treated with ammonia in phase 3-4 leaflets. The solution is calculated from the calculation of 10 ml of funds per bucket of water.
Baton and other green bows are annually affected by a secretive sphinx - a worm that settles inside the feathers. Plants infected with this pest have spotted leaves, as if they were stitched on a sewing machine. To protect from covertlyhabitat beds with onions, pour the composition:
- 25 ml of the preparation;
- a bucket of water.
The smell of ammonia is not tolerated by blood-sucking insects: gnats, mosquitoes, wasps.
Treatment of the garden from a pest complex
Required:
- 1 teaspoon of fir oil;
- 1 teaspoon of iodine;
- 1/2 teaspoon boric acid, diluted in 1/2 cup boiling water;
- 2 tablespoons of birch tar;
- 2 tablespoons of ammonia.
Ingredients dilute in a bucket of water - you get a working solution. For spraying, the glass of the working solution is added to a bucket of water, pour into a sprayer and treat all the plants in the garden at any time, except for flowering. The waiting time after processing is a week.
As a fertilizer
The maximum permissible concentration of the feed solution is a teaspoon of ammonia per liter of water. Pour the liquid into the watering can and pour the soil under the tomatoes, flowers. Particularly fond of ammonary fertilizing onions and garlic. Two or three days after watering, feathers acquire a rich dark green color.
Garden crops are watered with a solution of ammonia in the first half of the vegetation and at the beginning of harvesting. Dosage is used less than for vegetable - for a bucket of water 2 tablespoons of alcohol.
Often the drug is used to treat strawberries, protecting the plantation from weevils and simultaneously feeding nitrogen. Feeding and sprinkling with ammonia make the plantation green, healthy. There are no spots on the leaves. Plants look beautiful and effective, they give the greatest possible harvest.
